Chimei Innolux Corporation (CIC) has begun shifting its capacity dedicated to annual ODM production of 7-8 million Hewlett-Packard (HP) LCD monitors at its factory in Shenzhen, southern China, to Foxconn Electronics' production base in Chongqing, western China, according to industry sources in Taiwan.
The shift is in line with HP's setting up a PC factory in Chongqing, the sources noted, adding that the HP Chongqing plant started making notebooks at the end of January.
Foxconn's Chongqing base will recruit over 6,000 employees this year and the total workforce will reach over 10,000 in 2011, the sources added.
