LG.Philips LCD announced today it will showcase a new range of TFT LCD panels for high-definition TVs (HDTVs), LCD monitors, notebooks and mobile phones at FPD International 2006 in Yokohama, Japan (Oct 18-20).
LG.Philips LCD will demonstrate its lineup of full HD (1,920x1,080) TFT LCD panels for HDTVs, including 37-, 42- and 47-inch widescreen displays. These panels all feature a viewing angle of 178 degrees, a contrast ratio of 1,600:1, a maximum brightness of 600 cd/m2, a gray-to-gray response time of 8ms and a color gamut of 92%. The company will also present its 100-inch widescreen, full HD LCD panel, which was recently listed in the 2007 Guinness Book of World Records as the world's largest LCD panel.
In addition, the company will show its LCD monitor panels, including a 30-inch widescreen QXGA+ (2,560x1,600) LCD panel and a 26-inch widescreen UXGA (1,920x1,200) LCD panel. Other technologies for notebook panels will also be featured, including a 6.7mm-thin LCD panel and a 20.1-inch widescreen LCD panel.
The company will also highlights its medium-size displays, including the 7- and 10.4-inch LCD panels for car navigation systems, as well as its 4- and 8-inch LCD panels for automotive entertainment. Also to be featured are small-size displays including a 2.4-inch VGA low temperature poly-silicon (LTPS) LCD panel with in-plane switching (IPS) technology for wider viewing angle and a 2.4-inch QVGA active-matrix (AM) OLED (organic light emitting diodes) panel.
Moreover, LG.Philips LCD will highlight next-generation prototype displays, including a 42-inch TV panel, a 32-inch TV panel featuring a low-power external electrode fluorescent lamp (EEFL) (68W), a 32-inch full HDTV panels incorporating LED backlight unit (BLU) as well as a 15-inch LCD monitor panel featuring two viewing angles (178 and 80 degrees).
