UMC 1Q ASP to rise almost 10%, 2004 capex focuses on 12-inch capacity ramp

United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) expects its average selling prices (ASPs) to rise and will allocate most of its capital expenditures for 2004 to 12-inch fabs, said company CEO Jackson Ho at an investors conference yesterday.
