United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) is engaged in the business of manufacturing or fabrication of ICs for applications in major sectors of semiconductor industry.
Founded in 1980 and listed on Taiwan Stock Exchange in 1985, the company is best known for dedicated semiconductor foundry business maintaining a customer base across industries, including communication, consumer electronics, computer, memory and others.
UMC employs approximately 12,000 people worldwide including operation sites in Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Europe, and the United States.
