LCD TV shipment from Taiwan-based LCD TV makers totaled 859,000 units in the second quarter, up 25.3% sequentially from 685,000 units shipped in the first quarter, according to DigiTimes Research.
Shipments are expected to reach 1.01 million in the third quarter and 1.36 million in the fourth quarter. Overall shipments this year will reach 3.92 million units, up 115% on-year, the research firm predicts.
In early June, US-based Genesis Microchip forecast that Taiwan LCD TV ODMs will enjoy a five-fold growth in LCD TV shipments next year.
