Mitac sees pre-tax profits down 48% on year in 1H08

Taiwan PND vendor Mitac International saw its pre-tax profits slide 48.1% on year to NT$1.44 billion (US$47.5 million) in the first half of this year due to slower-than-expected GPS business, the company said.
