Innolux March shipments grow sequentially

TFT-LCD panel maker Innolux shipped 11.98 million large-size panels and 23.18 million small- to medium-size ones in March, respectively increasing 13.6% and 12.3% sequentially, according to the company.

Innolux has reported consolidated revenues of NT$23.923 billion (US$839 million) for March, growing 8.99% sequentially but slipping 22.80% on year.

During the first quarter of 2022, Innolux shipped 34.93 million large-size panels and 66.84 million small- to medium-size ones, decreasing 3.0% and 18.6% respectively on quarter, while consolidated revenues of NT$69.886 billion for the period were the lowest quarterly level since third-quarter 2020 and dropped 12.55% sequentially and 16.64% on year.

Small- to medium-size LCD panel and module maker Giantplus Technology has reported consolidated revenues of NT$910 million for March, increasing 18.97% on month and 6.04% on year, and those of NT$2.591 billion for first-quarter 2022 declined 3.74% on quarter but rising 18.07% on year.

As prices for TV- and IT-use LCD panels tend to further fall and anti-COVID lockdowns in several cities in China have impacted production there, LCD panel maker are likely to see monthly operating losses at the end of second-quarter 2022, industry sources said.

LED backlight unit (BLU) maker Radiant Opto-Electronics, electronic paper maker E Ink Holdings (EIH) and light guide plate maker Global Lighting Technologies (GLT) have also reported consolidated revenues for March.

Radiant in March shipped 6.918 million LED BLUs for smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices, 5.319 million for LCD monitors and notebooks, and 318,000 for LCD TVs and automotive displays.
