It wouldn't break compatibility with games or have too much of an impact on performance. The cpu is spec'ed the same, they're just shrinking it to make it cheaper.Posted on Feb 6, 17:41
Unlikely as this would probably break compatibility with games already on the market. The most direct benefit will be cost reductions leading to lower MSRP. Improved system designs could also be possible in the future. cf. PS2 -> PS2 Slim.Posted on Feb 6, 04:50
