Taiwan-based backlighting module manufacturer, Kenmos Technology, has reported NT$418 million (US$14 million) in consolidated revenues for May, representing 20.2% sequential growth due to increased orders from Japanese and Korean manufacturers.
Due to recent demand for backlight modules from a Japanese client for panels used in Amazon's 7-inch Kindle, Kenmos shipped about 200,000 units to the client in May and that number is expected to increase 3-4 times in June to 700,000-800,000 units with the possibility of shipments increasing even more in July, according to industry sources.
