Asia Optical plans to establish a digital camera plant in Brazil to tap the Latin America market, according to the company.
The Taiwan-based maker said it has so far set up overseas factories in China only.
Asia Optical, which also makes optical lenses, has reported unaudited consolidated revenues of NT$1.49 billion (US$50.5 million) for January 2011, dropping 29.7% on month and 4.3% on year. It expects monthly consolidated revenues to start growing significantly in second-quarter 2011 as shipments of new products begin.
