MediaTek announced a long-term global collaboration with Foxtron, the Foxconn-backed automotive unit, to deploy the Dimensity Auto Cockpit Platform C-X1 in premium electric vehicles, accelerating AI-enabled smart car development. The agreement, unveiled by the firms, will combine MediaTek’s semiconductor and AI platform capabilities with Foxtron’s EV architecture and manufacturing to deliver scalable smart-cockpit solutions.
The C-X1 platform integrates an Nvidia GPU and AI technologies and was built on an advanced 3-nanometer process, according to the announcement. MediaTek said the platform delivers high-performance computing and multimedia capabilities while supporting multimodal interaction and in-vehicle communications including 5G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Once implemented in Foxtron’s vehicle solutions, the C-X1 is intended to enable features such as intuitive vehicle controls, advanced safety functions, seamlessly connected entertainment and an AI assistant that provides personalized interactions for drivers and passengers. The firms described the integration as creating a complete smart-cockpit communications environment designed for a user-centric in-car experience.
The deal was presented as a response to accelerating demand for AI-defined vehicles and AI-enabled vehicle architectures, which the partners said requires stronger computing performance and ecosystem integration. Executives stated the collaboration will leverage semiconductor innovation, AI infrastructure, automotive platforms and advanced manufacturing to speed delivery of highly scalable solutions for global automakers and Tier 1 suppliers.
