Quanta Computer is expanding its manufacturing capacity in the US through an NT$1.336 billion (US$45.6 million) investment to lease a factory in California. The company's subsidiary, Quanta Manufacturing Nashville, LLC, signed a 10-year lease for a manufacturing facility measuring approximately 502,800 square feet.
The monthly rent for the facility is about US$380,000, with the lease contract totaling US$45.602 million. Following IFRS 16 accounting standards, Quanta will report right-of-use assets valued at approximately US$36.834 million. This move is part of Quanta's ongoing efforts to expand its production footprint in North America. Earlier in 2025, the company acquired factory properties and undertook equipment upgrades, indicating a strategy to increase manufacturing capacity.
Mike Yang, EVP at Quanta Computer, commented that production capacity is being actively increased at two US factories and one in Thailand. Additionally, a Mexico plant is expected to begin operations in early 2026. The expansions are attributed to a significant increase in customer orders, requiring enhanced manufacturing capabilities across multiple locations.
