Germany-based automotive supplier Robert Bosch GmbH is to spend US$1 billion in a span of 10 years to make electric vehicle (EV) components in China, according to Bloomberg. The planned facility, where Bosch will develop, test and manufacture car parts and autonomous driving technology for China-based automakers, will be in the city of Suzhou, Jiangsu province. Bosch currently operates four factories in Suzhou, where it employs 10,000 workers.

Silicon Carbide (SiC) power modules will be a major focus of the Bosch investment, and the first phase of the project will be ready by mid-2024.
