Qualcomm's automotive design-win pipeline has grown to US$30 billion, driven by increased adoption of its Snapdragon Digital Chassis solutions across the auto industry, according to the chip vendor. The increase represents a greater than US$10 billion expansion since the company's fiscal third quarter results were announced.
The expanded pipeline is a result of significant design wins with automakers and tier-1 suppliers, said Qualcomm.
Qualcomm also announced that its Snapdragon Digital Chassis solutions are adopted for upcoming Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Building on the companies' long-standing technology relationship spanning across multiple technology generations, Mercedes-Benz is integrating Snapdragon Cockpit Platforms to power digital cockpits, as well as Snapdragon Automotive Connectivity Platforms for telematics systems, in upcoming vehicles, Qualcomm indicated.
Qualcomm forecasts a total addressable market of about US$100 billion in the automotive space by 2030. The company is positioned itself as "the automotive industry's partner of choice for next-generation vehicles."
