Smart retail solution provider Space4M, a subsidiary of AU Optronics (AUO), and miniLED solution provider PanelSemi, a subsidiary of Innolux, have jointly developed a solution of displaying drone e-sports race tracks on a flexible fine-pitch miniLED display.

Space4M is responsible for planning and technological integration in the cooperation, while PanelSemi provides a flexible fine-pitch miniLED display solution.

Space4M has extended business from smart retail to e-sports through adopting innovative technologies, according to AUO president and CEO Frank Ko, who is also chairman for Smart Display Industrial Alliance.

The miniLED display solution features low power consumption, bendable displays and seamless mosaic of multiple panels to form large-size display, PanelSemi chairman Ting Chin-lung said.

Electronic and Optoelectronic System Research Laboratories under government-sponsored Industrial Technology Research Institute has provided flexible and transparent display technology for application to e-sports, CEO Pai Ray-yuan for Taiwan eSports League indicated.
