Flexible AMOLED + On Cell display design is adopted for 5.4-inch iPhone 13 mini, 6.1-inch iPhone 13, 6.1-inch iPhone 13 Pro and 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max, according to industry sources.

Apple-developed LTPO (low-temperature polycrystalline oxide) backplane technology is additionally adopted for iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max to save power consumption by 15-20% for screen display, the sources said.

For the four models of iPhone 13, Apply will procure 106 million flexible AMOLED panels from Samsung Display and LG Display, the sources cited Omdia as indicating. Samsung Display will supply three million flexible AMOLED panels for iPhone 13 mini, 48 million ones for iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro as well as 26 million ones for iPhone 13 Pro Max, while LG Display will supply eight million ones for iPhone 13 mini and 21 million ones for the two 6-inch iPhone 13 models.

Besides, China-based BOE Technology has become a supplier for the first time in 2021 and is expected to supply nine million AMOLED panels for iPhone series other than iPhone 13 in 2021. According to South Korea-based media The Elec, Apple recently released risk orders to BOE, meaning that BOE can become a supplier of flexible AMOLED panels for iPhone 13 if it meets Apple's requirements. But BOE is actually unlikely to become a qualified supplier by the end of 2021, the media added.
