Vietnam's Ministry of Information and Communications signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Asian Development Bank (ADB) at the end of June to form a partnership for the development of digital government, digital economy and digital society, according to a report by Vietnam Finance.

Results from their partnerships will support the Vietnam government's national digital transformation initiative from 2025 to 2030 and will push Vietnam's digital economy to account for 20% of Vietnam's GDP by 2025.

The Vietnam government activated the initiative in 2020.

Via the MOU, ADB will provide support for technologies to expand the local e-transaction laws, establish industrial digital technology laws and set digital economy and social development strategies.
