Asustek Computer has launched its ZenFone 5Q (ZenFone 5 Lite) in the Taiwan market priced at NT$9,900 (US$339). The vendor began to take pre-orders on March 15 with the availability to start on March 22.
The ZenFone 5G bears a 6-inch 18:9 Full HD IPS display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 CPU with Adreno 505 GPU, and dual rear and front camera set-ups. The primary rear camera sports a 16-megapixel sensor, f/2.2 aperture, 80-degree field of view and PDAF, while the main front camera bears a 20-megapixel Sony IMX376 sensor with an f/2.0 aperture.
Asustek also plans to launch its new flagship models, the 6.2-inch ZenFone 5 and 5Z, in the second quarter of 2018. The ZenFone 5 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 CPU, while the ZenFone 5Z sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor.
The ZenFone 5Z is expected to be available in Taiwan market in June with a price tag of around NT$15,000.
With the new ZenFone 5 series to be available in over 10 major markets globally in the third quarter of 2018, the company expects its smartphone business to swing back to profitability starting the quarter.
Asustek posted consolidated revenues of NT$27 billion in February, down 14% on month and 15% on year. Revenues are expected to rebound 50% on month to NT$37.3-42.3 billion in March, according to an industry estimate.
