LG Display is about to finalize talks with China-based vendor Xiaomi for providing OLED displays for handsets, according to a report from Korea-based MT News.
Pricing negotiations have been ongoing between the two vendors and are expected to wrap up by the end of 2015. Xiaomi will start receiving deliveries in the second quarter of 2016.
LG Display is also aiming to rely less on orders from parent company LG Electronics and expand its customer base following announcements to expand OLED production.
Xiaomi has received OLED displays from LG since 2014 and is reportedly aiming to expand its lineup of OLED smartphones heading into 2016, the report said.
