China Mobile has more than 50 million TD-LTE mobile subscribers and aims at 300 million in 2016, according to China-based Tencent.
China Mobile has set up 570,000 TD-LTE base stations in main cities around China and the number will exceed one million by the end of 2015, the report said. China Mobile is undertaking VoLTE trials and will kick off commercial operations in the first half of 2015, the report indicated.
Major smartphone vendors have launched 617 TD-LTE terminal devices with retail prices expected to drop to US$70-80 in 2015.
