Wistron has announced that its subsidiary Wistron Kunshan, located in Kunshan, China will acquire equipment sets from its affiliate Wistron InfoComm Technology - also located in Kunshan - for an amount of CNY72.04 million (US$11.75 million), according to a company post on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE).
Currently, Wistron Kunshan is in the process of merging with Wistron InfoComm, with Wistron Kunshan becoming the surviving company. Since both subsidiaries' main business is notebook manufacturing and sales, the merger is expected to help Wistron integrate its resources and save costs.
