PC component makers are changing their strategy from accepting all the orders their clients give to picking orders that provide better profits as the current market ecosystem gives the makers more bargaining power, according to sources from PC component makers.
Since the PC component market is turning from supply outstripping demand before the economic crisis to demand surpassing supply recently, several component makers have pointed out that they will focus on maintaining their gross margins and will start rejecting less profitable orders.
Market watchers pointed out that if picking orders becomes a trend in the PC component market, it will significantly change the market's current ecosystem as downstream makers will either need to adjust their pricing strategy or find a new supply chain that is willing to accept low-profit orders.
