Network-equipment makers Zyxel Communications and D-Link have won each a part of VDSL2 orders that Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) plans to purchase in 2010, according to the companies. CHT did not disclose the values for the two contracts.
However, the Chinese-language Commercial Times indicated that Zyxel and system integrator HwaCom Systems jointly took up the majority 70% of the orders, and will supply 350,000 units of VDSL2 equipment to CHT worth more than NT$800 million (US$25.2 million).
D-Link won the remaining 30% of orders worth NT$500 million, the paper added.
