Taiwan-based industrial PC (IPC) maker Advantech has become a partner of XJ Group, a supplier of power generation, transmission and distribution equipment in China, for tapping China's smart grids market, according to Advantech.
Advantech and XJ Group have cooperated to win a few government wind power-generating projects, Advantech indicated.
The China government has made plans to promote smart grids in the country: setting standards in 2009-2012, running large-scale pilot projects and conducting verifications in 2012-2015, and constructing smart grids throughout China in 2015-2020, according to XJ Group.
