Most Taiwan handset makers saw their revenues decline sequentially in January from December due to seasonal factors, although the figures were up significantly from the same period of last year, according to data made available by the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE).

BenQ’s consolidated revenues were down 13.5% on-month to NT$19.5 billion in January on declining sales of PC peripherals and digital media products, although shipments of its LCD monitors hit a record high of 1.1 million units in January, the company said in a February 10 press release.

Arima Communications’ unconsolidated revenues for January were down 20.7% sequentially to NT$2.17 billion, with its monthly handset shipments totaling 1.2 million units, according to company sources.
