AMD releases Opteron 246

In a much-anticipated move, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has officially released its Opteron 246 processor. With an internal clock speed of 2GHz and 128KB of L1 cache, the processor will support DDR333 memory and cost US$794 in 1,000-unit bundles.
