Taiwan LCD monitor shipments grew by 23.2% sequentially in the second quarter of 2009, outpacing the worldwide growth of 19.2%. Taiwan managed to see a double-digit shipment growth bucking seasonal trends, as shipments in the previous quarter were at the lowest levels since the third quarter of 2006. |

Inventory in the channel fell below its normal level in the first quarter. China's stimulus program for rural areas played a significant role in Taiwan's shipment growth in the second quarter. LCD TV makers saw an influx of rush orders in April and May. |
