Gogoro has announced Taipei City and New Taipei City Taiwan as the pilot market for its Smartscooter electric vehicle and Gogoro Energy Network, set to be available this summer. The Smartscooter a smart electric two-wheel vehicle with swappable batteries. The integrated Gogoro Energy Network is a battery-swapping infrastructure for cities. Gogoro's partnership with the two northern Taiwan cities will provide consumers with a variety of benefits when purchasing the Gogoro Smartscooter EV, such as subsidies for purchases and preferred parking throughout both cities.

New Energy Technologies, a developer of see-through SolarWindow coatings, capable of generating electricity on glass and flexible plastics, has claimed it has made breakthroughs towards market-ready, commercial products. New Energy said that its electricity-generating coatings demonstrate advantages over conventional photovoltaic (PV) modules such as power production of over 50-times greater than conventional PV solar modules when modeled for installation on tall towers; greenhouse gas benefits of over 10-times greater carbon dioxide (CO2) offsets over conventional PV solar modules and generate electricity on see-through glass, enhancing the performance of today's insulated commercial windows.
