Biostar launches Intel X58-based motherboard
Press release, November 18; Joseph Tsai, DIGITIMES [Wednesday 19 November 2008]

Biostar Microtech International has unveiled a top of the line motherboard for next generation Intel platform-TPower X58 based on Nehalem architecture.

The TPower X58 adopts Intel X58 chipset, supports Intel latest Core i7 series processor family. Intel Core i7 series processors support quad-core and hyper threading technology.

The chipset also supports the latest Intel QuickPath Interconnect (QPI) technology, which features point-to-point architecture, while improving scalability, and eliminating the competition between processors for bus bandwidth.

The TPower X58 also features Biostar's self-developed technologies including 100% XDC (extreme durable capacitor), space-pipe thermal design, a 12-phase power design and green power utility.

The 12-phase power design will provide highly efficient power control to generate less heat than traditional solutions. This design helps to extend component's lifecycle and system stability when CPU is under heavy loading or in overclocking mode. Green power utility will progress energy efficiency by disabling extra phases while CPU on light loading.

The TPower X58 is further equipped to support ATI CrossFireX and Nvidia SLI technology with triple PCI-E 2.0 (x16, x8, x4) interfaces.
