Thecus, Seagate pair to showcase innovative storage solutions at Computex 2015
Press release [Wednesday 3 June 2015]
With Computex 2015 kicking off on Tuesday, June 2, Thecus set out to showcase its latest storage solutions to the international audience in attendance. Thecus has unveiled several new NAS solutions, which provide both Linux and Windows-based environments.
Thecus will be displaying several of its enterprise storage solutions at Computex including High Availability, Daisy-Chaining, and 10Gbe performance. With daisy chaining, users have the ability to cost effectively increase their storage volume while maintaining fast transfers. To set up a daisy chain, one master NAS unit is installed as a controller with up to four DAS linked as slaves. SAS cables are then used to link the units together in order to ensure rapid speeds. Thecus is displaying its Daisy-Chaining solution using Seagate Enterprise NAS HDD drives. By utilizing 8TB drives, users can reach tremendous levels of storage capacity, up to 640TB.
In order to ensure continuous service at all times, High Availability allows for a seamless server transition in the occurrence of any unexpected interruptions. High Availability, available on the Thecus 16-bay N16000PRO, 12-bay N12000PRO and 8-bay N8900 NAS, is the ultimate data access fail-safe. Running two NAS side by side, HA keeps both up to date and ready to run any and all data functions. These NAS clones automatically synchronize their contents through a "Heartbeat" connection.
Thecus is also unveiling two new enterprise-level NAS units, the N7770-G and N8880U-G, which will be used to demonstrate the breakthrough performance of 10Gbe solutions.
