Panasonic introduces high-performance single-chip DLP projector series

Press release, November 17; Yvonne Yu, DIGITIMES Asia 0

Ecaucus, N.J. - (Business Wire) - Panasonic Solutions Company, provider of collaboration, information-sharing and decision-support solutions for government and commercial enterprises, today announced the PT-DZ570 Series projectors, featuring up to 4,500 lumens of brightness, exceptional image quality and native WUXGA resolution for full high-definition viewing. Ideal for a number of environments, including education, healthcare and corporate settings, the PT-DZ570 Series projectors deliver high performance and reliable operation, simple installation, as well as low maintenance and acquisition costs.

Image quality

The projectors include Panasonic's original RGB Booster, which achieves high image quality with levels of color reproduction and brightness that make each color stand out. It combines Panasonic's proprietary Vivid Color Control technology with a Lamp Modulation Drive System in a 1-chip DLP projector that produces bright and vivid colors. The exclusive Daylight View Premium feature measures surrounding illumination with a built-in ambient light sensor and corrects the image in real-time, producing clear, crisp images with remarkable depth – even in brightly-lit rooms. The PT-DZ570 Series projectors take color fidelity a step further with the Rec. 709 Mode for optimal color reproduction for projecting HDTV sources.

Detail Clarity Processor 3, a unique Panasonic image correction circuit optimally enhances each area of the screen. The projectors' ability to produce natural, crisp images and sharp details empowers conference and seminar speakers to give effective presentations. In addition, the DICOM Simulation Mode, a key requirement for X-Ray, CAT Scan, MRI Graphics and other medical-imaging applications reproduces those types of images with enhanced clarity.

The PT-DZ570U also comes equipped with built-in Waveform Monitor. When the output level of the source device fluctuates due to the performance of the device or its cable connections, the original black and white levels of the image content cannot be reproduced correctly. With the Waveform Monitor Function, users can easily view the waveforms on the screen and adjust the settings accordingly.

Low maintenance and TCO, high ROI

Panasonic's PT-DZ570U, PT-DW530U and PT-DX500U projectors encompass a new dust- resistant design that greatly improves operation and reliability, while eliminating the need for an optical system air filter. This new air filterless design significantly reduces the units' maintenance costs, eliminating the need to clean a projector filter after every few hundred hours of operation.

In addition, the highly-efficient cooling mechanism enables the projectors to withstand operating temperatures of up to 113 degrees Fahrenheit (45 degrees Celsius).

The PT-DZ570 Series projectors are equipped with 2x zoom lens and the horizontal/vertical lens shift feature that makes it possible to move the projected image without moving the projector. This enables IT professionals to install the PT-DZ570 Series projectors in the existing mount, saving time and money associated with new projector installation process.

PT-DZ570 Series projectors feature the same lamp used in Panasonic's PT-D6000 Series projectors. With Panasonic's lamp standardization, IT departments that invested in both projectors can significantly reduce additional inventory costs and simplify stock management. This results in cost savings for corporations, educational institutions and others with limited IT budgets. When lamp replacement becomes necessary, the convenient lamp location in the rear of the projector means that the device does not have to be removed from a ceiling mount for upkeep.

Additional key features

The new Eco Management function of the PT-DZ570 Series projectors significantly lowers power consumption by intelligently adjusting the status of the projector according to ambient light conditions and absence of input signals. The ecological design of the PT-DZ570 Series greatly reduces environmental impact, with power consumption at 0.3W in Eco Standby Mode.

In addition, with the optional accessories, the ET-UW100 (easy wireless stick) and ET-WM200U (wireless module), the PT-DZ570 Series projectors are wirelessly-enabled, allowing freedom of flexible layout in presentation rooms.

For added flexibility, a wired LAN connection enables remote operation, which is ideal for ceiling-mounted use. Multi Projector Monitoring and Control Software is available for monitoring and controlling multiple Panasonic projectors from a single PC, which means administrators can check a projector's status and condition without having to physically walk to the room where it is installed.

Both, the PT-DZ570U and PT-DW530U projectors feature 16:10 aspect ratio. This enables users to take advantage of the Side-By-Side Function, making it possible to simultaneously project content from two sources in a single projection, such as a PowerPoint presentation from a PC and a video segment from a DVD player.
