Digitimes Research: Taiwan LCD driver IC shipments rise 22% in 1Q13

Shipments of LCD driver ICs by Taiwan-based IC design houses for the first quarter of 2013 grew 21.6% from a year ago to NT$20.18 billion (US$673.8 million) in value, according to Digitimes Research. Shipments for small-size panel applications, such as smartphones, continued to register strong growth.

Digitimes Research: Europe solar trade tariffs may slow down market growth
The European Union (EU) plans to announce the details of its anti-subsidy tariff against China-based solar firms on June 6, 2013. The tariff is expected to be 30-67.9% with the average as high as 47.6%. The anti-dumping tariff rate will be announced in August. Both tariff rates will be finalized at the end of 2013.
