Digitimes Research: Taiwan makers to ship nearly 8.6 million LCD TVs in 1Q13

Taiwan-based makers will ship 8.555 million LCD TVs during the first quarter of 2013, decreasing 18.6% sequentially but increasing 0.6% on year, with North America remaining its biggest market.

North America will take up 43.9% of the shipments, followed by Asia with 25.9% and Europe with 18.7%. In terms of screen size, 50-inch and above will account for 8.1% of the total shipments; 46- to 48-inch 9.1%; 40-inch and above 22.2%; 37- to 39-inch 10.8%; 32-inch 37.7%; and below 30-inch 12.1%, Digitimes Research estimates.

TPV Technology will be the largest maker shipping 3.4 million LCD TVs, followed by Foxconn Electronics with 1.7 million units, Compal Electronics with 900,000 units, Amtran Technology and Wistron each with 800,000 units.
