Digitimes Research: Taiwan digital camera shipments increase 11.4% sequentially in 2Q12

Taiwan-based Ability Enterprise, Altek, Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) and Asia Optical together shipped 11.55 million digital cameras in second-quarter 2012, increasing by 11.4% on quarter but decreasing by 23.1% on year, according to Digitimes Research. Ability took up 45.0% of the total shipments, followed by Altek with 30.9%, Foxconn with 19.0% and Asia Optical with 5.1%. Nikon was the largest client accounting for 35.5% of the total shipments, followed by Fujifilm with 25.5%, Olympus with 11.6%, Sony with 7.6%, Casio with 5.2% and Samsung Electronics with 5.1%.
