Digitimes Research: Taiwan makers to ship over 10 million LCD TVs in 4Q12

Taiwan-based makers will ship 10.828 million LCD TVs in the fourth quarter of 2012, increasing 9.7% on quarter but decreasing 6% on year, with 65% of the sets to be shipped on an OEM/ODM basis and 35% on an OBM (own-brand manufacturing) basis, Digitimes Research has learned.

TPV Technology, Foxconn Electronics, Compal Electronics and Amtran Technology will be the four largest makers.

North America will account for 47.5% of the shipments, Asia 24.6%, Europe 16.1% and other regions 11.8%. In terms of size, 50-inch and above will take up 4.6% of the shipments, 46-48-inch 10.0%, 40/42-inch 21.8%, 37-39-inch 9.8%, 32-inch 39.3% and sub-30-inch 14.5%.
