Taiwan-based makers will ship 339.697 million small- to medium-size TFT-LCD panels during the fourth quarter of 2012, decreasing 9.9% on quarter and 7.8% on year, according to Digitimes Research's latest findings.

Of the shipments, 84.6% will be a-Si TFT-LCD panels and 15.4% will be LTPS (low-temperature poly-Si) panels. In terms of applications, 78.9% will be for handsets, 7% for digital cameras, 2.3% each for tablets and in-car display devices and 2% for GPS PNDs (portable navigation devices).

HannStar Display, Chimei Innolux (CMI) and Chunghwa Picture Tubes (CPT) will be the three largest makers accounting for 29.5%, 25.27% and 23.7%, respectively, of the shipments.
