Digitimes Research: Taiwan makers ship nearly 10 million LCD TVs in 3Q12

Taiwan-based makers shipped 9.874 million LCD TVs in the third quarter of 2012, increasing 18.9% on quarter but decreasing 12.4% on year. 65.5% of the shipment volume was on an OEM/ODM basis and 34.5% on an OBM (own brand manufacturing) basis, according to Digitimes Research.

TPV Technology, Foxconn Electronics, Compal Electronics, Wistron and Amtran Technology were the five largest makers.

North America accounted for 44.3% of the shipment volume, Asia for 25.5%, Europe for 17.6% and other regions for 12.6%.

Of the shipment volume, 3.4% was of screen sizes 50-inch or above, 8.5% 46-48 inch, 23.0% 40- or 42-inch, 7.8% 37-39 inch, 41.0% 32-inch and 16.3% smaller than 30-inch.
