Digitimes Research: Taiwan makers see increased 2Q12 shipments of small- to medium-sized panels

Taiwan-based makers shipped 347.558 million small- to medium-sized TFT-LCD panels in total during the second quarter of 2012, growing 12.5% on quarter and 5.2% on year, according to Digitimes Research.

HannStar Display was the largest maker accounting for 34.8% of the total shipment volume, followed by Chunghwa Picture Tubes with 22.5%.

While 79% of the shipment volume was used in handsets, tablet PCs had the largest sequential growth at 74.3%.
