Digitimes Research: Polysilicon and wafer firms in Greater China plan to increase prices after Lunar New Year
Jackie Chang, DIGITIMES, Taipei [Friday 20 January 2012]

Due to the upcoming Lunar New Year holidays, prices of solar products in Greater China have been quite stable, however polysilicon and solar wafer firms are inclined to increase quotes after the holidays, according to Digitimes Research analyst Chihheng Liang.

The price of solar modules increased slightly recently to reflect inventory clear-outs during the end of 2011, added Liang. Also, the increase in price was due to the depreciation of the Euro. Tier-one solar module firms in China have been quoting solar modules around EUR0.65-0.70/watt (US$0.84-0.91) while tier-two and tier-three module makers have been quoting around EUR0.62-0.65/watt, Liang stated.
