Taiwan large-size LCD panel shipments drop 7.9% in 3Q10, says Digitimes Research
Press release, October 26; Rodney Chan, DIGITIMES [Tuesday 26 October 2010]

Taiwan makers saw their large-size LCD panel shipments drop 7.9% to 64.65 million units in the third quarter as a result of weak demand and reduced utilization rates, according to Digitimes Research.

Such a decline has been rare, as the third quarter is the industry's traditional peak season, explained Digitimes Research senior analyst Tony Huang.

Taiwan's share of the global large-size LCD panel market declined to 41.8% in the third quarter, as TV and PC clients adjusted their orders, Huang said.
