Qualcomm Toq smartwatch featuring Mirasol display

Qualcomm has unveiled the Qualcomm Toq smartwatch, designed to serve as a second display to the wearer's smartphone. The device will be released in the fourth quarter of 2013.

The Qualcomm Toq smartwatch features the company's Mirasol display technology and a stereo Bluetooth audio experience, while offering its wearers long battery life with connectivity to their smartphone, the vendor said.

With Toq, consumers will be able to manage smartphone calls, text messages, meeting reminders and various notifications from their wrist, Qualcomm said.

At launch, Toq will be compatible with Android 4.0.3 and above mobile devices.
