Adata Technology has announced the release of its S596 Turbo-series solid-state drive (SSD), built using the JMicron JMF616 controller.

The new Adata SSD is equipped with SATA2 and mini-USB dual interface, and can be used as an external portable storage or an installed disk in laptop. With a 3.5-inch converter, the S596 Turbo can also be installed in desktop PC.

In addition to the DDR2 128M cache buffer, the S596 Turbo provides read and write speed of up to 260MB per second and 210MB/S, respectively. The firmware supports Windows 7 TRIM command, which significantly shortens the boot-up time.
