Transcend launches rugged SSD

Transcend Information has introduced a new 1.8-inch SSD18M portable solid state drive (SSD) that meets US military drop-test standards (MIL-STD-810F 516.5-Transit Drop), according to the company.

Aside from shock-resistant feature, the Transcend SSD18M comes with both eSATA and USB2.0 interface options, and delivers read speeds of up to 90MB/s and write speeds up to 50MB/s.

Measuring 80x50x12.5mm and weighting 50g, the SSD18M is available in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB capacities.
