Digitimes Research: Taiwan makers to see 17.6% drop in 2012 LCD TV shipments Tom Lo, DIGITIMES Research, Taipei [Friday 23 November 2012] Taiwan-based makers will ship a total of 37.513 million LCD TVs in 2012, slipping 17.6% from 2011, with a global share of 18.2%, down 4.1pp as well, according to Digitimes Research. TPV Technology will account for 40% of the total shipment volume (49% of its shipments to Philips), followed by Foxconn with 17% (80% to Sony), Compal Electronics with 13% (75% to Toshiba), Wistron with 12% (50% to Sony), Amtran Technology with 11% (92% to Vizio) and Pegatron with 7% (73% to Toshiba), Digitimes Research said. Taiwan-based makers' total shipments in 2013 will increase to 44.726 million LCD TVs, with global share rising to 20.6%.
