Digitimes Research: Taiwan makers ship over 25 million LCD monitors in 3Q12 Tony Huang, DIGITIMES Research, Taipei [Friday 23 November 2012] Taiwan-based makers shipped 25.780 million LCD monitors during the third quarter of 2012, increasing 7.4% on quarter but decreasing 11.4% on year and occupying 63.4% of global total shipments, according to Digitimes Research. Of the third-quarter 2012 shipments, 78.7% were on a OEM/ODM basis and 21.3% on a OBM basis. TPV Technology was the largest maker accounting for 58.91% of total shipments, followed by Qisda with 16.31%, Foxconn Electronics with 11.97%, Wistron with 8.29% and Amtran Technology with 1.92%, according to Digitimes Research. Taiwan-based makers' total shipments in the fourth quarter are forecast at 24.859 million LCD monitors, leading to 2012 total shipments of 100.094 million units, down 14.2% from 2011.
