Betty Shu, DIGITIMES Research, Taipei 0

As GoPro shipments are estimated to reach between 4- to 4.5 million in 2014, up as high as 17% on year, the growth will nevertheless prove comparatively limited compared to 66% on-year growth in 2013 at 3.85 million.

In light on this, Digitimes Research noted GoPro is working toward improving its ecosystem and emphasizing less on the hardware end in order to provide consumers with more value added services, which will include increased cooperation with platform and software developers.

GoPro will also focus more on social networking features and further cooperation with specialized component makers for increased video recording experiences to maintain high double-digit growth in 2015.

While strengthening video recording services and camera features will still be a concern for the company, video upload and sharing channels will be further integrated into the GoPro business model in addition to content sales and sales in emerging markets, added Digitimes Research.
