MediaTek asks component suppliers to increase 3Q09 inventories

MediaTek has requested component makers, including Yuantonix and Elite Semiconductor Memory Technology (ESMT), to make sure they have sufficient inventories to meet strong handset chip demand in the third quarter, according to industry sources.
