Taiwan LCD monitor shipments remained flat sequentially in the first quarter of 2009, but the shipments were down 18.1% from the same period one year earlier as a result of the global slowdown. The shift of demand in the market toward notebooks and away from desktop PCs was another contributing factor to slower market demand.
