Compal aspiring to become top notebook maker in 2009

Although Compal Electronics' consolidated revenues dropped 3% on year to NT$427.68 billion (US$12.88 billion) in 2008, the company's notebook shipments grew 11% to 25.5 million notebooks, according to Rock Hsu, chairman of the company.
