NEC Display Solutions of America recently announced the launch of its 52-inch LCD MultiSync (LCD5220) full high-definition wide-screen display designed for digital signage applications.
The new LCD5220 supports the 1080p HD standard and the ultra-thin bezel (19 millimeters / 0.7 inches allows a more seamless picture when used in multiple-display, video-wall implementations. The LCD5220 also employs a U-shaped backlight system that leverage fluorescent bulbs to deliver even heat distribution and uniform brightness, and the display has a sealed cabinet design to protect against a variety of contaminants, such as dust, smoke and grease.
According to Frost & Sullivan, NEC was ranked top in the world digital signage display market 2006 with a 23.1% market share.
The MultiSync LCD5220 is available starting in April 2008 with an estimated street price of US$8,149.99.
